Yes, it's true. The China Dolls have been MIA in their blog section for the past couple of months. We have two words though: We're back! After our book tour, we didn't have too much time to breathe as we quickly had to dive into writing the second novel and quickly get back into the swing of things with our day job. Now that we have had some time to catch up with everything though, we're going to take a moment to update you on the latest developments.

First of all, it's May. That means the Kentucky Derby and Asian Heritage Month! Blossom and I are still working diligently promoting China Dolls (and what better time to do so than this month)! Several Asian organizations have been kind of enough to have us speak at their events and it's been so much fun! We've met so many new friends too.

A couple of weeks ago, we were invited to speak at the Asian Educator's Alliance Conference mixer. We were introduced to lots of cool teachers in New York. Antonio Lee, one of the ringleaders of the group, was fabulous in helping us spread the word...Along came his friend Marcus, who is fabulous and a complete romantic. One of the first things he said to Blossom and I swept us off our feet. He was telling us a story about how he moved to New York for love. It was so moving to me that I went around saying that to people for days. I would randomly come up with things like 'I would quit my job for love' or 'I would stop drinking for love' and fling my hair back. What an endearing, classic line. Marcus, it's going in our next book. Do you want to be our tri-author? In all honesty, I would love to say one day that I moved across the country for love. It's just so...romantic...so Casablanca...so Hollywood.

This past weekend, Blossom and I had a booth set up at the Asian Heritage Festival in Union Square. Bibs Teh of CAPA was kind enough to get us set up under such short notice and have us present China Dolls at the Lotus Awards too. Thanks Bibs! Throughout the day, we met more great people including Susan Wong, who shared a table with us. Susan is the Asian Outreach Coordinator at York College. She was so awesome and such a riot! Love her! We also met Antony Wong, the head of AARI. He's having us speak at his group in June and we're psyched. As we're talking to them, a young Polish lady Blanka comes and talks to us with her mom about our book. She loves Asian culture and is excited to read China Dolls.

Blanka hanging out with the China Dolls!

Blossom and I will be doing about a dozen more Asian Heritage events in the month of May. Our next stop is out West as we head to LA for the weekend. We'll be at a book festival out there! We'll holla back when we're back East! Adios!
