Portland couldn't be any better than I expected and what a fitting way to end our book tour! Why? Well, because our wonderful agent Natasha Kern is a resident there and she took us out for a day of relaxation after all the books were signed and the work was done.

8 AM - It's our last day in Portland so we try to soak everything up as much as possible. We go to Hawthorne to have some breakfast and possibly do some MORE shopping. Yes, aside from writing, Blossom and I can go for hours doing nothing but shopping. We have some yummy coconut pancakes in this cute breakfast cafe and get ready to search for more bargains.

11 AM - We've been shopping for a couple of hours already and it's not even noon yet. I buy another pair of shoes while Blossom goes "dress" crazy and buys two more dresses!

12:30 PM - The phone rings. It's Natasha. She's wondering where we are and says that she's coming to the hotel to pick us up now. She'll be taking us to the gorge and checking out the Columbia River. We're thrilled!

2 pm - We are in the gorge area and we see some of the most beautiful sights and some hidden treasures that I didn't know existed in Oregon.

4 PM - Since Blossom and I are both city girls, we feel like we've been in the woods for days now. The scenery is just absolutely breathtaking. We can see why Natasha lives here no. Everything is just so picture perfect. I could imagine myself writing for hours sitting up near the mountains and just never getting tired looking down at the Columbia River.

4:30 PM - Natasha drives us to her other home in Washington! White Salmon, Washington that is...White Salmon is a small little town above the mountains with a population of about 5,000. It's SO cute. We visit Natasha's pretty picturesqe home that faces Mount Hood. What a sight!

5 PM - The time has come. It is time to go! Natasha, whom we also like to call our den mother, informs us that it's dinner time and that we must eat now before she drives us back to the Portland airport to catch our plane. She takes us to this beautiful lodge inn as we eat our last delicious Pacific Northwest tastings of salmon and dungeness crab.

7 PM - Blossom and I are at the airport and ready to leave. Goodbye book tour! We will never forget you! You were fabulous!

Sunday (The next day)

6 AM - We wake up on the plane from our red eye flight. The flight attendant's perky voice says over the loudspeaker "Welcome to Newark International Airport'...I look over at Blossom with a sour face and say 'I don't want to be welcomed back by Newark International Airport'. That's just terrible." It means we're back to the grind.

Book Two...we're coming after you...
