Two Weeks and Counting.....

So I woke up this morning and I realized that in exactly two weeks...our book is going to be in bookstores.

Imagining being able to walk down the block into my neighborhood Borders and pick up a copy of our novel is just SURREAL.  To be honest, I don't think I'll truly believe it until I hold it in my hands (as I sneak glances around to see if anyone is buying our book ofcourse).  When you've been working toward something for as long as you can remember, it's hard to imagine actually getting that brass ring...

In some ways, maybe it's a good thing that Michelle and I have been completely and utterly swamped.  It seems like every minute we're either renting tables for the launch party, putting together invitation lists, scheduling events on our book tour, working on publicity - I'll stop there.  Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining; if anything, it's thrilling.  Who would ever imagine that Michelle and I would be trying to do a "staged dramatic reading" one day? Yes, that's right.  Michelle and I will be doing something a little different but hopefully entertaining for all attendees at our kickoff book reading in New York City at:

The Corner Bookstore
1313 Madison Avenue (between 92nd & 93rd St)
 Monday, February 12 at 6pm

In addition to the "staged dramatic reading", we'll also have a Q&A and a wine reception afterwards.  Also, here's a little trivia: Not only were "Devil Wears Prada" and "The Nanny Diaries" launched at the Corner Bookstore, but this was also the inspiration for Meg Ryan's bookstore in "You've Got Mail."

It's pretty exciting stuff - oh, and I do believe it's time now to cross off another day on the calendar.  Thirteen days and counting....

PS: You're also going to be seeing something new very soon; Michelle and I have joined The Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit, and we're going to be featuring books from other fab female writers.  Stay tuned!
