Welcome 2007!

Happy New Year everyone! May 2007 be all you hope it to be.
Blossom and I are relieved and so excited that 2007 has arrived. With
the arrival of the new year means the long awaited arrival of China
Dolls! While the launch of China Dolls is still a few weeks away,
preparations similar to that of New Year's Eve at Times Square are in
the works for the the book tour, book launch parties, and book
signings. Okay, so there won't be any waterford crystals or ball
droppings but there will be lots of fun festivities. Over the holidays,
I couldn't help myself one afternoon during a session of (what people
call) retail therapy and went out and purchased the dress and shoes for
the launch party. Now, I've been trying to hit the gym to make sure I
can fit into the dress! That's what happens during the holidays - too
much food consumption and holiday stress makes people buy crazy attire
that you hope you can still fit into in a couple of months! I guess
that's why they make those resolutions!

Anyhow, we've also been checking out all the calendar events on all the
bookstores that we'll be doing booksignings for including
Vromans's
and Book Passage in Californi. I must say, it's pretty cool. We've also
been profusely working on our publicity campaign and receiving reviews.
Check out the latest one from Booklist.
From Booklist
Yu and Kan's novel centers around three young Chinese American women
looking for love and career success in New York City. M. J. is a
successful sportswriter who dreams of becoming an on-air reporter, but
fears her gender is an obstacle. Despite some setbacks, her star is
rising, and when she reconnects with her high-school boyfriend, she
thinks everything might finally be falling into place, until she
discovers he hasn't changed as much as she'd hoped. Alex, a lawyer, is
grappling with the absence of a love life and trying to work through
her feelings for her unrequited college love. A stockbroker who plays
to win, Lin finds herself falling under the spell of a charming new
recruit at work and jeopardizing her job to be with him. Though readers
may see the characters' paths to love long before they do, Yu and Kan's
heroines are eminently likable, and their adventures in love and on the
job do ring true.
