I am an old fart. That's what I've been thinking after I was asked to speak at my college's Lambda Pi Eta honors society ceremony recently. It's been five years since I graduated and in my mind, I felt like it was yesterday. I felt like it was yesterday that I ate ten cent chicken wings on Monday nights at the local Jaspers bar. I felt like it was yesterday that I scheduled all my classes for the week in one day so I could get four days off to sit in my despicably dirty dorm room and stare at the ceiling. Flashback!

Okay, I've snapped out of it and I'm back in reality. So, yea, I had to give this speech to about thirty students and their parents. At first, I didn't know what to say but then when I talked to one of my former professors. He encouraged me to talk about my journalism career and about China Dolls. Then I thought..ahhh..China Dolls. There is so much to say about those 'Dolls'. Blossom and I have realized that we often speak of China Dolls as if it were a child. China Dolls can be good. It can be bad. Heck, China Dolls can even misbehave. Our little novel can make us feel proud though when we receive phone calls from people who are interested in having us do a reading at their bookstore.

We were approached by this quaint place called the Corner Bookstore on Madison Avenue to do a reading in February - when our book finally comes out! It feels like forever already! We were thrilled to hear that this was the same bookstore that had readings for "The Devil Wears Prada" and "The Nanny Diaries".

We will surely keep you posted on when the exact date for the reading is. All are invited to come!!
