Hi all,
Welcome to the China Dolls website! My wonderful cousin and co-author Michelle has already told you how excited we are about our book coming out in February (which, yes, seems like it's an eternity from now), and even though it seems really far away, we're already pretty busy. There's so much more than I ever imagined going into putting a book out there, and we'll try to talk about some of these things in our upcoming blogs because it would have really helped us if we had known some of these things a year ago. The good news though is that a lot of the things that writers do are actually fun, which brings us to the first topic of the day: PARTIES!

Michelle and I were in Atlanta last week for the RWA conference (as were many of you who we were so happy to see).  Unfortunately, because of our schedules, we were only able to squeeze in two days there, but it was worth it.  Sightseeing went to the wayside somewhat (although we did have some Croatian soda at Coca-Cola World), and we had to settle for our own tour of Atlanta - specifically, our very own Eating-Tour of Atlanta, because Michelle and I LOVE southern cuisine.  We started off with lunch at Chick-fil-a (where we gobbled chicken sandwiches, waffle fries and milk shakes) and had dinner with our agent Natasha Kern at South City (fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, grits, and peaches and poundcake).  Our favorite though was Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles - best fried chicken and grits, hands down.  Also great fried corn and waffles too.

Michelle and Blossom partying it up with friend and author Marley Gibson at Diana Peterfreund's launch part
But putting food aside, RWA was great fun because of all the people we met up with - both new and old friends. We caught up with Marley Gibson and Elizabeth Mahon, who we met at the RWA NYC chapter, and grabbed coffee with the delightful Beth Kendrick.  On Friday, Michelle moderated our agent's panel "Breaking out in a Nudist Paranormal Werewolf World", and then it was off to the St. Martin's spotlight, other workshops, and some publisher book-signings (where I grabbed my fair share of goodies).  After that, it was off to the St. Martin's party, where we chatted with the St. Martin's people (including the wonderful Sally Richardson) and gobbled up sushi and calamari.  We also met Emily Giffin, who is absolutely lovely and  so much fun to talk to (she's a former New Yorker, so we had some New York reminiscing to do).  All in all, the trip went way too quickly as there were many more people we didn't get a chance to see (including Diana Peterfreund, but we caught up with her at her NYC book party, which was a blast - more on that next time).  We're going to have to carve out more time for Dallas next year!

Well, that's all for my inaugural blog. I've got some errands to run now but please come back again soon! See ya!
